Do you remember the incredibly fun couple I did engagement photos for back in October? If not, check out Peyton and Micah’s engagement session here. In that post, I talked about how excited I was for their wedding. The wedding itself totally lived up to the excitement. Every single detail of that day was absolutely perfect, from beginning to end.
I started off the day with Peyton and her bridesmaids. The got ready at the guest house at Peyton’s parents’ house, and it was the perfect spot. The girls laughed, ate, listened to music, and took lots of selfies as they got ready, and had plenty of opportunities for photos filled with the joy that was the tone of the entire day. We moved on to the church, and one of the reasons I had been excited for the wedding was the ceremony location. Russell Springs First Baptist Church is gorgeous, inside and out, and provides plenty of great spots for photos. The first look was such a sweet and tender moment, and taking photos of Peyton and Micah together was just as much fun as I knew it would be from their engagement photos. Peyton’s dress was absolutely beautiful, and her bridesmaids’ dresses just might be my favorites that I have ever seen. The bridal party was relaxed and fun, we finished outside photos just before the rain started, the ceremony was super sweet, and before we even left for the reception, my cheeks already hurt from smiling so much.
As for the reception….wow. Just…wow. The reception was held at The Barn at Goose Creek. The barn is a newly constructed venue built specifically for wedding receptions and other events, and even though it isn’t quite finished yet, since the owner is a relative of Micah’s, it was completed enough for them to hold their reception there. Even though it wasn’t completely finished, it was still incredible. The foyer of the barn was gorgeous, with areas for restrooms off to one side and a preparation room on the other. Peyton and Micah’s cake was in the center of the foyer, and I still can’t get over how amazing the cake looked AND tasted. The main area itself is huge and was decorated in blush pink flowers, gold sequined table cloths, and gorgeous white and gold place settings for Peyton and Micah’s reception. Off to one side was a small area for the buffet, and on the other was a covered patio. The rear doors also opened up on a patio, partly covered and partly not covered. The property around the barn is also break taking, with SO many gorgeous spots for photos. The food served at the reception was delicious, the toasts by the best man and maid of honor were both funny and sweet, and the dancing was so much fun. Just check out the photos below…especially Peyton’s dad dancing to “Disco Duck” by Rick Dees..to see what I mean. Peyton changed into a different dress for the reception, and I loved it just as much as her other one. I got a new favorite wedding photo as a result of that dress, my off-camera flash, and the perfect twirl, actually!
