I would like to take a moment to introduce you to Colette and Lance.
I have photographed quite a few weddings and a great deal of other sessions in the three years that I have officially been in business. I have had nothing but incredible experiences with each wedding and each session I have shot.
But Colette and Lance’s wedding goes beyond “incredible.” Their wedding was one of the most heartfelt moments I have ever witnessed in my life, and Colette and Lance were two of the most genuine people I have ever met.
From the first moment I arrived at the Dressman Farm in Versailles on Colette and Lance’s wedding day, I loved them both. They were incredibly welcoming, totally calm throughout the time I spent with them, and completely confident in my ability to photograph their wedding. However, the peace that settled around them as they got ready, posed for photos, carried out the ceremony, and celebrated with their friends and family is something I don’t think I will ever forget. Their wedding was intimate, personal, and perfect. When they exchanged vows, they spoke directly from their hearts in front of a few of their closest friends and family members. They celebrated afterwards with classic Coca Cola bottles, fried chicken, and an adorable cake. The venue was decorated with items that Colette made herself and reflect hours of work and immeasurable talent. And from beginning to end, I knew that Colette and Lance were madly in love with one another.
Take a look at some of my favorite photos from Colette and Lance’s wedding below. Fun fact: I have had Colette’s dress on a wish list for two years now with plans to wear it when David and I renew our vows for our tenth anniversary next year.
And when you finish checking out their wedding photos, check out their incredible band, The Blue Velvets.
