Brand Love: Pip and Bean

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I have been posting a few photos of my kids in super cool clothes and tagging some really awesome small businesses.  Every spring, I buy the boys their new clothes for the summer and fall, and this year, I decided to shop small instead of buying everything at chain stores. As a result, I have added a couple of collaborations to my list of commercial work and one shop for which the boys are now brand enthusiasts.  Along the way, I have discovered a super intense love for commercial photography.  That love is so intense that I have been tempted to completely revamp my photography business in order to focus more on commercial work.

I said tempted.  Just tempted.  🙂

During my search for awesome shops to support, I discovered a couple which I really, really, REALLY love.  I will be featuring the other in an upcoming “Brand Love” post, but I wanted to start with the coolest of the cool–Pip and Bean.

If you have never heard of Pip and Bean, go ahead and stop right now and go check them out.

Seriously.  I’ll wait.

See what I mean?  When I saw the incredible personalized capes that Alyssa makes over at Pip and Bean, I had yet to hear of brand enthusiasts or reps or any of that jazz.  I just knew that I needed to get my hands–and camera–on her capes as soon as possible.  I reached out to Alyssa about working together, and it was seriously one of the best decisions I have made in a while.

First and foremost, the company itself is incredible and the customer service is the best.  Every conversation I have with Alyssa leaves me smiling, and I adore all the cute customer photos she shares on her Instagram page.  The photos from her adventures living in a hotel (seriously…it’s the coolest thing ever!) and raising her adorable kiddos are an awesome bonus.  Go check out the Pip and Bean Instagram page to see what I mean.

As for the capes themselves, they are absolutely, positively PERFECT.  If you know my boys in real life, then you know that they are obsessed with everything superhero-related.  They LOVE capes, which is why I knew that working with Pip and Bean was a perfect opportunity to get photos of my boys that they would enjoy taking as well.  The quality of the capes is a million times better than any other capes I have ever come across, and the personalization options available make these capes truly customizable.  Pip and Bean even makes capes for superheros in wheelchairs, which makes me love the company even more.  The neckline of the capes has room for kids with sensory issues AND makes the capes a completely safe option for playtime.  As the mother of a child with autism, any company who considers the needs of EVERY child basically has my heart forever and ever.  Amen.

I can’t express clearly enough just how much I LOVE these capes, and they are so well-constructed that I know my boys will be able to play in them for a long, long time.  Pip and Bean wins for most awesome superhero capes in the world.  True story.

I will be taking more photos of the boys in their capes shortly so that I can show off the adorable matching gauntlets and mask for Gavin, so be sure to follow me on Instagram to see them!

In the meantime, check out my photos of the boys in their capes below and then go check out the capes themselves over on Pip and Bean’s website!
