Meet Colin Thomas

I love photographing families in their homes.  There’s something about capturing the elements of their surroundings that are unique to only them that I absolutely adore.  I haven’t had the opportunity to do an in-home session for quite some time, but the arrival of sweet Colin Thomas gave me the perfect one.  Colin’s mother, Alicia, is a friend of mine and the sister of one of my closest friends, Leslie.  When Alicia first announced her pregnancy, she contacted me about taking newborn photos for her, and I was happy to put her on my calendar.  I was even MORE excited when Alicia found out that the new addition joining big sisters Kate, Carly, and McKinley would be her first boy.  You might recognize Kate, Carly, and McKinley from my session with them last November, which is featured in a post of my favorites from that month here. They were just as much of a joy to photograph this time around as they were a year ago, and I can’t wait to see them again in a few months for McKinley’s birthday.

My session with this crew also provided me with an opportunity to travel to the Nashville area where they live, and I thoroughly enjoyed my trip there and back with Leslie and my pal Asher.  Asher has been featured on the blog several times, and I couldn’t resist getting a photo of him with his baby cousin at the end of this session.  You will see Asher on my blog again soon.  He is going to become a big brother next month, and I am excited to photograph him with his new baby brother when he arrives!

Take a look at a few of my favorites from my session with Alicia, Cameron, Kate, Carly, McKinley, and Colin at their gorgeous home below–including my new favorite session outtake!
